Here is a brief rundown of his trip: Satuday, August 23- Former float rating student, Bill Cassano, flew up from Florida for the Ultimate Cross Country!!!! We did some serious Alaska/mountain/float flying for 4 hours and then headed south, spending the night on Hasselborg Lake.
Monday, August 25- Trout for breakfast. Depart for Prince Rupert, BC, to clear Canadian Customs then on to Tabor Lake at Prince George, BC, for the night . Nice cabins and restaurant right on the lake. Tuesday, August 26- Flew from the lake to the land aerodrome in Prince George for fuel but weathered in the rest of the day. Wednesday, August 27- Headed south and entered the USA at Oroville, WA continuing on for Sandpoint, ID. Thursday, August 28- Tried to fly across Glacier National Park but forest fires and convective activity in conjunction with 11,000 foot terrain indicated a diversion to the south. Spent the night in Miles City, MT. Friday, August 29- More weather decisions. Overnight in Newton, IA. Saturday, August 30- More weather decisions, lots more, with an overnight in Marion, IL. Sunday, August 31- All the way home to Cross City!!! 54 total flying hours and an unbelievable trip for Bill. Ask about the Ultimate Float Rating and Ultimate Cross Country!!
